Surface materials to consider for pet beds
In some seasons and environments, a relatively cool surface may be required, while at other times a soft, warm surface may be required.
Considering that the bed is likely to be reused for a long time (think cats!), hygiene is an important consideration.
Wipe or washable materials are great to account for dirt, mud and grime. This is also an important point if your pet has an infectious disease, or parasite. It is important to limit secondary infection or spread, and choosing a bed that can be washed and disinfected is key.
Finally, durability should also be considered.
Durable materials may be relatively expensive, but generally speaking, their value is in the peace of mind you get from your bed. We don’t want to replace these important pet furniture every year, so let’s choose wisely for longer.
